HamClock Replacement Programs
Updated: Feb 21, 2026 @ 12:36 hrs

With HamClock's pending End of Life cycle coming in June 2026, there are some new alternative programs have come to our attention that are definitely worth taking a look at.

There are several New (4) Geo Type program that can help replace HamClock. At this point, the only way that HamClock can be saved is if someone is allowed to take over the development and given access to the original HamClock source code.

All of these programs can run from a web browser
  • Open HamClock
is a web based program with lots of info
  • Ham Tab is similar but there are some differences
  • DX Clock runs from your cell phone and a web browser
  • Ham Vision runs from a web browser and is in the very early stages of development
Not New: Simon's World Ham Clock is a program that runs on your PC

As of this posting, all these programs are FREE.
Some may ask for volutary donations.

Open HamClock
Open HamClock

Open HamClock is a web based Hamclock type of program which means that it will run on most any computer without the need to compile the app. It actually has a few more features than the original HamClock.

This is definitely worth looking at! It's well writen and ready to go.

HamTab
Updated: Feb 6, 2026 10:53 hrs: Just tried it again and it was working

DX Clock
UPDATE: Feb 21, 2026 19:41 hrs: Just tried it again and it was working

DX Clock is a web based program that is similar to the other programs available. I am not sure if the cell phone / tablet version will continue to be supported, Otherwise, it is a very nice program and well woth taking a look at it. I didn't do any extensive testing so I don't have any further comments.

Having said all this, I think it would still be worth looking at! I would think it would work good on a tablet for remote operations.

Ham Vision
ADDED: Feb 21, 2026 10:52 hrs: Here is another new
Geo Clock called Ham Vision by PD2TX

Ham Vsion is a web based Geo Clock program in the making. When I tried it I could not find a way to insert my callsign and configure it for my area / location. I wasn't able to do any more than try it as is but it has some VERY GOOD potential. So at this poing I don't have any other comments.

Might be worth watching this one for new updates and releases.

Simon's World Ham Clock
ADDED: Feb 15, 2026 16:52 hrs

Simon's World Ham Clock is a program for your PC that is the one most similar to GeoChron. I run this one on a regular basis and like it a lot. It's very configurable and offers features like connecting to your radio.

This one is a nice program. I haven't tried it with a radio but as a stand alone program it's very nice
UPDATE: I was able to get this to work on my ChromeOS computer.
